Former NYPD official and Florida businessman charged in alleged bribery schemes

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said an indictment was unsealed charging former NYPD School Safety Division Commanding Officer Kevin Taylor and Florida businessman Geno Roefaro with bribery and related offenses. Both were arrested; the source does not report pleas, convictions or settlements.

The DOJ alleges that Taylor accepted tens of thousands of dollars in cash and gifts, including luxury lodging, a helicopter tour and Broadway tickets, in exchange for using his influence to steer city contracts to Roefaro’s company.
