Former Massachusetts State Police sergeant sentenced in CDL bribery and records-falsification case

Gary Cederquist, a former Massachusetts State Police sergeant, was sentenced to six years in prison after a federal jury convicted him in May 2025 of conspiracy to commit extortion, extortion, honest-services mail fraud, conspiracy to falsify records, falsification of records and false statements. The court also ordered supervised release, a $30,000 fine, $18,300 restitution and an $18,300 forfeiture judgment.

The DOJ said Cederquist and co-conspirators arranged passing CDL scores for applicants who had failed or had not taken the required test, including in exchange for bribes.
