Former Pennsylvania Labor Employee Indicted Over Alleged Bribery-Linked Benefit Claims

The DOJ said a federal grand jury indicted Elizabeth Goss, a former Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry employee, on four wire-fraud counts and one count of theft of government property. According to the indictment, she accepted unauthorised payments to approve and expedite claims that were allegedly ineligible, resulting in approximately $528,449 in benefits being paid improperly.

The case is at the charging stage; there has been no plea, conviction, settlement or finding of liability reported. Goss is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. The cited statutes provide for potential prison terms and fines, subject to sentencing rules.
