Summary
The US Department of Justice said Jesse Foote pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the Federal Anti-Kickback statute and conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud. The charges concerned alleged conduct involving overseas telemarketing companies, telemedicine providers, doctors and DME suppliers between 2017 and 2021.
Foote was sentenced to 30 months’ imprisonment, three years’ supervised release and $7,878,991.56 in restitution. According to the DOJ, the scheme caused more than $7.8 million in allegedly fraudulent claims to be submitted to Medicare, TRICARE and private insurers.
