Hong Kong ICAC adds bribery charges over alleged EMSD procurement gifts

Hong Kong’s ICAC said two Electrical and Mechanical Services Department works supervisors and a supplier face three additional corruption charges and one additional conspiracy-to-defraud charge. The charges concern more than 300 gifts allegedly worth about HK$3.2 million and follow earlier allegations involving purchase orders exceeding HK$13.6 million, including inflated quantities and prices.

The defendants—Tsang Tak-keung, Yip Wai-ho and Cheung Chun-kit—have been charged; the source does not report pleas, convictions, settlements or findings of liability. The allegations concern conspiracy for a public servant to accept advantages, public servant acceptance of an advantage and conspiracy to defraud under Hong Kong law.
