Summary
The UK Serious Fraud Office and Güralp Systems Ltd finalised a Deferred Prosecution Agreement in October 2019. The company accepted charges of conspiracy to make corrupt payments and failure to prevent bribery, agreeing to pay £2,069,861. Three individuals charged in related proceedings were acquitted in December 2019.
The SFO said in November 2024 that it believed the DPA’s terms had been breached. The High Court confirmed in January 2026 that the DPA was enforceable, and on 10 February 2026 refused Güralp permission to appeal that ruling to the Supreme Court; the SFO has requested a further hearing concerning the alleged breach.
