Former Kansas police officer charged with bribery over alleged solicitation of sexual favors

The DOJ said a federal grand jury indicted Troy Dwayne Watson, a former Junction City police officer, on one count of bribery. According to court documents, he allegedly solicited sexual favors from a confidential informant between October 2021 and April 2022 in exchange for favorable resolutions of pending criminal matters.

The case is at the charging stage; there has been no conviction or settlement. The DOJ noted that an indictment is an allegation and that Watson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
