Navy Contractor Sentenced Over Bid-Rigging and False-Billing Scheme

Cory Taylor Wright was sentenced to 36 months in prison and ordered to pay $9.13 million in restitution after pleading guilty to wire fraud. The DOJ said the scheme involved steering Navy contracts, kickbacks and other benefits to a Navy insider, concealed conflicts of interest, and false invoices for undelivered work.

According to Wright’s plea agreement, the scheme also used fake competing bids and fraudulent documents to obtain contracts. The source does not state the procedural outcome for co-conspirator Juan Carlos Aragon.
