France’s financial prosecutor appeals Libya-related case rulings

France’s Parquet national financier said on 3 October 2025 that it had lodged principal appeals against rulings involving Nicolas Sarkozy and several other defendants in the Libya case. The appeals cover all or parts of the criminal decisions, including allegations concerning corruption, influence trafficking, illegal campaign financing and criminal association.

The prosecutor also filed incidental appeals following appeals by defendants.
