France’s National Financial Prosecutor’s Office said searches were under way at Paris’s 7th arrondissement town hall, the Ministry of Culture and private residences on 18 December 2025. The operations form part of a judicial investigation opened on 14 October following a preliminary inquiry and a TRACFIN referral.
The investigation concerns alleged active and passive corruption, influence peddling, misappropriation of public funds, handling of proceeds and money laundering linked to Rachida Dati’s mandate as a European parliamentarian. No charge, plea, conviction or settlement was reported; the investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by OCLCIFF under two investigating judges.
