Former Secretary of Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Pleads Guilty to Conspiring to Take Illegal Kickbacks to Award Government Contracts

The former head of Louisiana's wildlife agency pleaded guilty to conspiring to take kickbacks in return for influencing state contracts. According to the DOJ, the parties discussed holding his share until he left office and disguising it as a signing bonus for consulting work. The DOJ said the original no-bid award was later replaced by a public bid process that was also influenced in favour of the same provider.
